Set up your business details, logos, and branding so proposals and documents reflect your company.

Who this is for

Builders, subcontractors, and estimators who set up Core Estimator for their business.

What this module is for

Organisation is where you tell Core Estimator about your business. You store your trading name, ABN, company colours, and logo here. This information shows up in proposals, estimates, and any documents you generate from the platform. If you're a subcontractor using Core Estimator, you'll use this to make sure your quotes look like they come from your business, not someone else's.

Things worth knowing upfront

  • You can only have one organisation set up per login. This is your business details.

  • Everything you enter here is optional except your business name. You can fill in the rest as you go.

  • Branding (logo and colours) is used when you generate proposals and documents. Changing it doesn't affect your existing estimates or projects.

  • If you don't upload a logo, your proposals will still work fine without one.

How to get there

From anywhere in Core Estimator:

  1. Click the Setup tab at the top of the page.

  2. In the left menu, click Organisation.

What you'll see

The Organisation screen has three tabs: Business Information, Business Branding, and Business Links. You start on the Business Information tab when you first open Organisation.

Step-by-step: Setting up Business Information

The Business Information tab holds your core company details.

  1. Click the Business Information tab (it's already selected when you arrive).

  2. Fill in the fields shown. See the table below for what each one means.

  3. Click Save at the bottom when you're done.

Note: You can update your Business Name and contact details anytime. The changes take effect immediately on new documents you generate.

Step-by-step: Setting up Business Branding

The Business Branding tab is where you upload your logo and set your brand colours. These appear in proposals and any documents generated from Core Estimator.

  1. Click the Business Branding tab.

  2. Upload your logo by clicking the image upload area. PNG or JPG files work best.

  3. Set your brand colours by clicking on each colour field and selecting from the colour picker.

  4. Click Save when you're done.

Logo changes only affect new proposals. Once a proposal has been generated with a logo, that proposal keeps the logo regardless of what you do to the logo setting afterwards. Deleting or replacing your logo will only affect proposals produced from that point on — existing proposals are not changed.

Tip: Keep your logo file smaller than 2MB and use PNG with a transparent background so it looks good on any background colour.

Step-by-step: Setting up Business Links

The Business Links tab lets you store links to your website, social media, or other pages you want to reference.

  1. Click the Business Links tab.

  2. Enter the URLs or links you want to save (e.g. your website, LinkedIn profile, or contact page).

  3. Click Save when you're done.

Note: Business Links are stored in your account but may not appear on all documents. Check your proposal template settings to see if these links are included.

Worked example

You're a builder starting out with Core Estimator. Your business is called "Harrow Constructions" and your ABN is 12 345 678 901. Your contact person for quotes is Mark Wilson. Here's how you'd set it up:

  1. Go to Setup > Organisation.

  2. Click Business Information (if you're not already there).

  3. Enter Harrow Constructions in the Business Name field.

  4. Enter 12 345 678 901 in the ABN field.

  5. Enter Mark Wilson in the Business Contact field.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click the Business Branding tab.

  8. Upload your company logo (e.g. your Harrow Constructions logo file).

  9. Set your brand colour to match your logo (e.g. navy blue #00295b).

  10. Click Save.

Now when you generate a proposal in Core Estimator, it will show "Harrow Constructions" with your logo and brand colours. Any documents you send out will reflect your business.

Tips

  • Fill in your Business Name first. Everything else can wait until you start generating proposals.

  • If you don't have a logo yet, you can skip Business Branding and come back later. Proposals will still work without one.

  • Use your full ABN including spaces (12 345 678 901) to make it easier to read on documents.

  • Keep your Business Contact field simple. Just a name or a name and phone number works best on proposals.

  • Update your branding colours if your business rebrands. It only affects new documents you generate after the change.

Troubleshooting

I saved my Business Name but it's not showing on my proposal

Your proposal template may not include the business name, or you haven't generated a new proposal since saving.

Check your proposal settings to make sure the business name is included in the template. Then generate a new proposal to see the change.

My logo looks blurry or pixelated on the proposal

The logo file uploaded was too small or low resolution.

Upload a higher resolution logo file (at least 600px wide). If you don't have one, contact your graphic designer or use a tool like Canva to create a higher resolution version.

I can't change my ABN after saving

Some fields may lock after initial setup depending on your account type.

Try clicking the field to see if you can edit it. If it's locked, contact support for assistance.

My colours don't match what I see in proposals

The colour picker may not match exactly how colours render in generated PDFs or emails.

Generate a test proposal and check how the colours look. You can adjust and regenerate until it matches your brand.

My logo file won't upload

The file may be too large, the wrong format, or corrupted.

Try a smaller file (under 2MB), use PNG or JPG format, and make sure the file isn't corrupted. If it still doesn't work, try a different logo file.
