Setup — Profile / Security
Manage your account information, contact details, and password in one place.
Who this is for
Builders, estimators, and subcontractors who need to keep their contact information current and want to change their password.
What this module is for
Every user has a personal profile that holds your name, contact details, address, and company affiliation. The Security section lets you reset your password whenever you need to. This is your personal space — changes here affect only your account, not your company's data.
Things worth knowing upfront
Your email address is locked and cannot be changed once your account is created.
Your state field is restricted to Australian states (ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA).
Avatar uploads support JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP, and AVIF files.
You can choose a colour for your avatar as a fallback if you do not upload an image.
Password changes take effect immediately.
How to get there
From anywhere in Core Estimator, click the Setup tab at the top.
Look for Profile / Security in the left menu list.
Click it to open your profile.
What you'll see
The Profile screen has two tabs at the top: Profile and Security.
The Profile tab shows four sections of fields:
User Information (avatar, colour, name, bio)
Contact Information (email, mobile, landline)
User Address (street, suburb, state, postcode)
Related Company Information (job title, company)
At the bottom of the form are two buttons: Cancel and Save.
Step-by-step: Updating your profile information
Adding or changing your avatar
Click the Upload Avatar area in the User Information section.
Select a supported file from your computer (JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP, or AVIF).
Click Save at the bottom of the form.
Tip: If you do not upload an image, Core Estimator will show a coloured circle with your initials instead. Use the colour picker next to the avatar upload to choose a colour that suits you.
Updating your name and bio
Go to the Profile tab.
In the User Information section, fill in your First Name, Last Name, and (optionally) a short Bio.
Click Save.
Adding or updating contact information
In the Contact Information section, enter your details:
Field | Notes |
Read-only. This is the email your account was created with and cannot be changed. | |
Mobile | Optional. Enter your mobile number. |
Landline | Optional. Enter your landline number if you have one. |
Click Save when you are done.
Updating your address
In the User Address section, fill in:
Field | Notes |
Address Line 1 | Street address. |
Address Line 2 | Apartment, unit, or building number (optional). |
City | Suburb or town. |
State | Australian state only. Use the dropdown to select ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, or WA. |
Postal Code | Four-digit postcode. |
Click Save.
Setting your job title and company
In the Related Company Information section, enter your Job Title or Position.
Click the Company dropdown and select your company from the list.
Click Save.
Note: The Company dropdown shows companies that have been set up in your workspace. If your company is not listed, ask an administrator to add it in the Setup > Companies module first.
Step-by-step: Changing your password
Click the Security tab at the top of the profile screen.
In the Reset Password section, enter your new password in the Password field.
Enter the same password again in the Confirm Password field to confirm.
Click Save.
Warning: Both password fields are required. If you leave either one blank, you cannot save. Your new password takes effect immediately once you save.
Note: The password field has a visibility toggle (an eye icon) next to it. Click the eye to show or hide your password as you type.
Worked example
Sarah is a site estimator at BuildRight Construction. She has just started in the role and wants to complete her profile. Here is how she does it:
She goes to Setup > Profile / Security.
On the Profile tab, she uploads a photo of herself as her avatar.
She fills in her name: First Name "Sarah", Last Name "Chapman".
She enters her mobile number: 0412 555 888.
She enters her address: 42 Builders Lane, Redfern, NSW, 2016.
She selects her job title: "Site Estimator".
She picks her company: "BuildRight Construction" from the dropdown.
She clicks Save.
Then she clicks the Security tab and sets a strong password for her account.
She clicks Save again.
Her profile is now complete. The next time she logs in, her name and photo will appear at the top of the screen, and other team members will see her details if they view her contact card.
Tips
Keep your contact details current. Phone numbers and address are used on proposals and by team members trying to reach you — out-of-date details cause friction.
Add a short bio. A sentence or two about your experience helps build trust with clients who see your details on proposals.
Leave optional fields blank if they don't apply. Mobile and landline are not required — skip them if you don't have both.
Use a clear avatar photo. A recognisable photo makes your profile feel personal and helps colleagues identify you in the app.
Troubleshooting
Symptom | Cause | Fix |
I can't change my email address | Your email address is locked for security. It's the unique identifier for your account and was set when the account was created. | If your email is no longer valid, contact your administrator to have the account transferred to a new email address. |
My password save failed or gave an error | You may have left the Confirm Password field blank, or the two passwords didn't match. | Fill in both the Password and Confirm Password fields with the same value, then click Save again. |
My state isn't listed in the dropdown | The state field only supports Australian states (ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA). | Select the applicable Australian state. If your address is outside Australia, leave the field blank. |
My changes aren't saving | You may have missed a required field, or there's a temporary network issue. | Check that all required fields are filled in, then click Save again. If the problem persists, refresh the page and try again. |
